EPIC CONDITIONS AND INCREDIBLE SURFING AT THE RIP CURL CUP PADANG PADANG

Its always a restless night when you know Padang will probably be breaking, And as per the forcast, it was just that. Solid Six feet lines were rolling down the reef at first light and only getting better with the tide dropping out.

Rip Curls invitational event called upon the best 16 tuberiders in the world and 16 best indonesian surfers to compete in this event.  With the likes of Jamie O'brien, Dean Brady, Ryan turner, Luke Egan, Rizal Tanjung, Bol, Lee wilson and Ry Craike every heat was like a final and incredible to watch.

Spectators were shown a true display of the worlds best tuberiding going down with cracking 6 feet plus barrels hitting Padang padang all day. Jamie O'brien was the standout surfer and the winner of the event with an amazing four 10 point rides and a bagfull of 9's and above.

Bol, coming in second place to Jamie who is a 2 times Rip curl cup winner and as comfortable in the Barrel at padang is he is ripping into a Nasi goreng said " It was as good as it gets today" and "this is the first time i surfed Padang this year. I wish it was always like this!"
